Perinatal Mental Health & Birth Story Debriefing

Support through pregnancy, birth, motherhood and everything in between.

“Pregnancy, birth and becoming a mother can bring so many changes. Some wonderful, some challenging, and some we might never have expected”

Maybe your journey to becoming a parent hasn't gone the way you'd hoped.

Maybe your birth experience is still on your mind, or you're finding the adjustment to motherhood harder than you imagined.

Or perhaps you're doing everything that needs to be done, looking after everyone else, while quietly wondering when you'll get a chance to process everything you've been through.

Whatever your experience, you deserve support too.

Your Story Deserves to Be Heard

We spend so much time preparing for birth. The appointments, the classes, the plans, the endless advice. But how often do we make time to talk about it afterwards? Not just what happened, but how it felt. The moments you remember clearly, the ones that feel a little blurry, what surprised you, what was difficult, what you're proud of, and perhaps the things you're still trying to make sense of

I believe every mother deserves the opportunity to talk through her birth story, whether her birth went exactly as she'd hoped or nothing like she'd imagined.

That's why I offer a standalone 2-hour Birth Story Debrief.

It's a space to slow down, share your experience and explore whatever has stayed with you, without judgement, pressure or someone telling you how you should feel. You don't need to have experienced a traumatic birth, and there's no expectation to continue with ongoing counselling afterwards. Sometimes simply having the space to tell your story and feel heard can be meaningful.

When You Need a Little More Support

Sometimes the challenges begin long before a baby arrives. Fertility struggles, IVF, pregnancy loss, anxiety during pregnancy, birth trauma or the enormous adjustment to motherhood can affect us in ways we don't always anticipate.

And sometimes it's not one big thing. It's the mental load, the changes to your body, relationships and identity, or that feeling that everyone needs something from you. You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, guilty or like you've somehow lost a part of yourself along the way. Through counselling, EMDR Therapy and Resource Therapy (parts work), I offer support to help you make sense of what you're experiencing, work through difficult memories or beliefs, and reconnect with yourself.

There's no one-size-fits-all approach. We'll work together to find what feels right for you.

A Space for You, Too

As a mum of two, I know that motherhood can bring so much love alongside feelings and challenges we don't always talk about. My approach is warm, down-to-earth and shaped around you. Whether you want to talk through your birth story, process a difficult experience or simply have somewhere to be honest about how you're feeling, you're welcome just as you are.

You don't need to have all the answers, know exactly what you need, or wait until things feel overwhelming to reach out.

I offer in-person appointments in East Gosford on the Central Coast of NSW, and Telehealth appointments Australia-wide.

Birth Story Debrief: A standalone 2-hour appointment, with no commitment to ongoing counselling.

Perinatal Counselling: Individual 60- or 90-minute sessions, with EMDR and Resource Therapy available where appropriate.

Birth Story Debriefing is a space for emotional reflection rather than a medical review of your birth experience.
